The Bullying Prevention Platform is something I don’t take very lightly. As a target of bullying, I understand the long-lasting effects that linger well after the harassment is over. Although, in the end, my experience with being bullied helped me become stronger, it’s important to understand that I went through the pain, mental deterioration, and fear that is way too often terribly overbearing for some that it results in lives gone too soon.

The Effects of Bullying
One in five children in the United States experience bullying where a peer harasses, humiliates, or threatens repeatedly. Bullying can have negative psychological, physical, and academic effects.
Be an Upstander
Bullying can happen at school, at home, in the workplace, anywhere. It is critical to note that if you see something, say something and to always be an upstander, not a bystander. That’s why I’ve partnered with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer’s Upstanders Program that provides all 6th and 7th-grade classrooms in Orlando with a five-session bullying prevention curriculum that aids in the children’s understanding of how to combat bullying.
